Ancient Babylonian astronomers named it thousands of years ago and somehow — through every translation, every civilization, every century — the name survived nearly unchanged. Most stars have been renamed and renamed again. Nunki just kept being Nunki.
It sits in Sagittarius the Archer. An arrow’s star if there ever was one.
This arrow is golden yellow feathers, hand-wrapped around a cedar shaft. Black tip, yellow nock, 29½ inches — the longest feather arrow I make. Made in Los Angeles. One of a kind.
