There is a blanket I have had for years. Worn soft, kept close. The kind of thing you don’t throw away because it holds something you can’t name.
I felted it by hand and wrapped it around a cedar shaft. I found naturally shed black chicken feathers in my neighborhood and fletched them by hand. I stained the wooden nock black. I hand-engraved the Hotfelt mark into the metal tip with a Dremel — each letter pressed in slowly, by hand.
This is Ankaa. Named after the brightest star in Phoenix the constellation — the mythological firebird that builds its nest at the end of its life, ignites it, and rises again from the ashes. In Arabic, Ankaa simply means “the phoenix.” A star named for transformation. For the thing that doesn’t disappear but becomes something else entirely.
That felt right for a blanket that became an arrow.
This is the first arrow in the Remnant Series — twelve arrows, one for every month, each made from a different material that carries meaning. Dropped on the new moon. Made once. Never repeated.
Ankaa is one of a kind. It will not be made again.
Cedar shaft wrapped entirely in hand-felted blanket material. Naturally shed black chicken feathers, hand-sculpted fletch. Black stained wooden nock. Metal tip hand-engraved with the Hotfelt mark.
Website only. $189. One of a kind.
