Five thousand years ago, when the Egyptians were building the Great Pyramid at Giza, Thuban was the North Star. The pyramid’s internal passages were aligned so precisely that Thuban could be seen from deep within the stone, day and night. The Pharaohs believed it was the gateway through which they would ascend to the heavens after death. The fixed point around which the entire sky turned.

Then the Earth’s axis shifted, slowly, over centuries. Thuban drifted. Polaris took its place. Today Thuban sits quietly in the constellation Draco, unassuming, waiting. In 20,000 years it will be the North Star again.

This arrow is painted allover in dragon scales. Peacock feather fletch, iridescent and hand-sculpted. Gold-tone tip. 25¾ inches. Hand-shaped cedar.

The pyramid star. Made in Los Angeles. One of a kind.
