In 1756, the French astronomer Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille spent two years at the Cape of Good Hope mapping the southern sky. He named fourteen new constellations after the tools of science and art. One he called “le Chevalet et la Palette” — the easel and the palette. We know it today simply as Pictor. The Painter.

These three mini arrows are the most painterly things I make. Layered abstract brushstrokes in cool teals and purples, warm pinks and reds, deep ocean blues shading into salmon and peach. Each one a different color story. Together, the whole spectrum.

Named for the painter’s easel in the southern sky. ¼-inch hardwood shafts. Ranging from 12 to 13 inches. Made in Los Angeles. One of a kind.
